1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open TrendMicro
This will be the main screen you are presented within TrendMicro and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
To access the settings of TrendMicro, you’ll want to click on the little gear button situated in the middle of the main screen just beside ‘Scan’.
6. Click Exception Lists
After you navigate to settings, you’ll want to navigate to the ‘Exceptions Lists’ tab as pictured below.
7. Adding an Exception
After you have navigated to the ‘Exception Lists’ tab, you will see your exclusion list as the name implies. To add an exception, click on ‘+ Add’. Make sure that, you’re on the ‘Programs/Folder’ tab.
8. Adding Salad as an Exception
A new window will appear once you have clicked ‘+ Add’. In that window, click on ‘Browse’. And after that, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\Salad” and click ‘Open’.
9. Click 'Ok'
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder and clicked ‘Open’, hit ‘Ok’, and it will bring you back to the main TrendMicro exception page with your newly added exception. Make sure to click ‘Apply’ on there again.
10. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
