1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad, and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open F-Prot
This will be the main screen you are presented within F-Secure and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
To access the settings of F-Secure, you’ll want to click on ‘Settings’ situated on middle, right beside ‘Virus Scan’.
6. Finding the Exclusion settings
After you have clicked on ‘Settings’, a new window will open which will some things related to your AV’s settings. Make sure you are on ‘Virus and Threats’ tab. From there, click on ‘View quarantine’ situated under ‘Virus Protection’.
7. Adding an Exclusion
After you have clicked on ‘View quarantine’, list of your quarantine items will show up. You will notice that, there are tabs on the top of the new window as well. From those tabs, click on ‘Excluded’ to add an exclusion in F-Secure.
8. Adding Salad as an Exclusion
After you clicked on the ‘Excluded’, your exclusion list will appear. From there, click on ‘Add New’. After that, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\Salad” and click ‘Ok’.
9. Click on 'Ok'
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder and clicked it, hit ‘Ok’, and it will bring you back to the main F-Secure exclusion page with your newly added exclusion.
10. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
