1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open Webroot
This will be the main screen you are presented within Webroot, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
To access the settings of Webroot, click on the little gear icon beside ‘PC Security’ situated just on the right of the screen.
6. Click on 'Block/Allow Files'
After you have navigated to your settings, you will be presented with your AV’s protection settings. From there, select the ‘Block/Allow Files’ tab as pictured below.
7. Click on 'Add File'
After you have navigated to the ‘Block/Allow Files’, you will be presented your exclusions list. From there, click ‘Add File’.
8. Adding Salad as an Exception
After clicking on ‘Add file’, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\appdata\roaming\salad” and from that folder, select all .exe files (these are the specific miners we use). As Webroot doesn’t support folder exclusion you will need to add all .exe files as exclusions.
9. Adding other miners as Exclusions
After selecting your exclusion for salad.exe, click on ‘Add files’ again. This time, you’ll want to navigate to the dist folder and select all .exe files. Again, If for any reason, the ‘Add file’ button doesn’t work, go to your salad default installation folder and drag and drop the .exe in the exclusions tab and it will work.
10. Click Open
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder along with your dist folder and clicked it, hit ‘Open’, and it will bring you back to the main Webroot Exclusion whitelist page with your newly added exclusions
11. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
