1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open Sophos
This will be the main screen you are presented within Sophos and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
To access the settings of Sophos, select ‘Settings’ situated just on the bottom of the screen.
6. Adding Exceptions
After clicking on ‘Settings’. Your default web browser will open up along with the link that navigates you to your Sophos antivirus protection settings. You would find the exceptions area just beside ‘Malicious Traffic Detection’.
7. Adding Salad as an exclusion
After you have found ‘Exceptions’, you’ll want to navigate the Salad installation folder on the dialogue box under it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\Salad” and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
8. Click Ok
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder and clicked Enter, it will bring you back to the main Sophos Exception whitelist page with your newly added exception.
9. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
