1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad, and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open Avast
This will be the main screen you are presented within Avast, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
You’ll want to click on ‘Menu’ situated on the upper right corner and click on the settings tab from the dropdown list.
6. Click Exceptions
You’ll want to navigate to the Exceptions tab and click on ‘Add Exception’, as pictured below
7. Adding Salad as an exception
A dialogue box will appear once you have clicked ‘Add Exception’. In that dialogue box you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\Salad” (without the quotations).
8. Click ‘Add Exception’
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder and clicked it, hit ‘Add Exception’, and it will bring you back to the main Avast ‘Exception’ page with your newly added Exception.
9. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
