1. Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad, and all of its associated files and folders
2. Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
3. Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
4. Open Malwarebytes
This will be the main screen you are presented within Malwarebytes, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5. Navigate to Settings
You’ll want to click the settings tab on the bottom of the left-side list of tabs.
6. Click Exclusions
You’ll want to navigate to the Exclusions tab, as pictured below
7. Click “Add Exclusion”
Click the “Add Exclusion button on the bottom of the window.
8. Click “Exclude a File or Folder”
On the Exclusions wizard, you’ll want to click the “Exclude a File of Folder” option.
9. Click “Select Folder”
Click the “Select Folder option, the rightmost from the file path bar.
10. Navigate to your Salad installation folder
In the top dialogue box you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\Salad” (without the quotations).
11. Click OK
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder and clicked it, hit OK, and it will bring you back to the main Malwarebytes Exclusions whitelist page with your newly added exclusion.
12. Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists.
